Welcome to the Intellectual Property Office Jersey
We manage intellectual property (IP) rights as part of the wider Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) framework. This helps ensure consistent standards and a clear, straightforward experience for rights holders, businesses and professional advisers.
Our role is to register and manage certain IP rights. We check that applications meet the legal requirements set out in Jersey law and support Jersey’s approach to protecting innovation and commercial integrity. We maintain registers for trade marks, designs and patents, and provide information on other types of IP that may be relevant to people and businesses operating in Jersey.
Our work is carried out in accordance with Jersey’s intellectual property legislation, including the Trade Marks (Jersey) Law 2026 and the Trade Marks (Jersey) Order 2026, which provide the legal framework for the registration, protection and administration of trade mark rights in Jersey.
We work to keep our registers accurate, up to date and compliant with legal requirements. This includes reviewing applications, renewal filings and supporting documents submitted to the Registry.
Jersey’s IP framework also supports cross-border protection, international cooperation and the protection of rights in a global business environment.
