You must already be using the mark or have a genuine intention to use it for the goods or services listed. If you do not use your mark for five years without a valid reason, it may be cancelled.
Declaration
You must complete the declaration in the application form correctly and in good faith. Only apply if you genuinely intend to use the trade mark. False or misleading information may invalidate your registration.
Define scope clearly
Only include goods and services you genuinely plan to use. Avoid broad or speculative lists.
Understand the risks
Applications made without a genuine intention to use the trade mark or to block others may be challenged, refused or cancelled. This can also result in costs if your application is challenged.
Be clear and accurate when applying. This helps ensure your trade mark is valid and protected under Jersey law.
